DATEK just nickels and dimes you to death, and when I first opened the account, it was only a small amount. Sort of honked me off. Trades executed quickly enough, I just hated giving up gains for all their little fees. I find AmeriTrade to be competent, and two bucks cheaper per trade. They have a fee-free IRA, which was the main impetus for my switch. I've never executed anything more demanding than a market order, though, so if you're a stop-limit kind of guy, you may want to ask a second opinion. Andrew. P.S. Hi Kurt, long time no see.
