CALGARY, May 15 /CNW/ - Jim Perry, President of Global Thermoelectric
Inc. announced today that Dr. Dave Ghosh will be joining Global on June 1,
1998 as Manager of the Corporation's Fuel Cell Division.
Mr. Perry stated that ''Dr. Ghosh will be a key member of the team that
Global is assembling to bring the Corporation's Solid Oxide Fuel Cells into
commercial production. Dave holds three patents and has presented more than
forty papers and talks at conferences around the world. His extensive
background in advanced industrial materials, ceramics and powder metallurgy
will be a valuable addition to our knowledge base. He previously managed a
group of more than 50 scientists and technicians at a major government
research institute, and we look forward to his taking a leadership role in
this exciting new project at Global.''
Global Thermolelectric Inc. has obtained advanced solid oxide fuel cell
technology from one of the largest research institutes in Germany. The
Corporation recently completed an equity issue that raised $3 million to
facilitate an accelerated program to develop commercially viable products
using this leading edge technology.
Global Thermoelectric Inc. is the world's largest supplier of
thermoelectric power generation equipment designed for use in remote
locations. The Company is also involved in the design and manufacture of a
new line of crew compartment heaters for use in military vehicles. The
Company's common shares and common share purchase warrants are listed on the
Alberta Stock Exchange trading under the symbols GLE and GLE.WT.A
respectively.
