Also lets not forget - Oracle runs on over 90+ platforms and is the dominant market player so that there are lots of resources, third party products etc. that run on it. Also NT and hence sql server only scales to 4 processors. I don think this is religion - these are cold hard facts which arent going to change. If you think the world is NT only and Microsoft makes the best products simply by virutue of the fact that it makes the operating system then go ahead and bet your business on SQLSERVER. The fact that microsoft cant run its OWN business (MSNBC, MS network) on NT and SQL*Server should make anyone else think twice.
