Louie - I've heard nothing on the T1E1 meeting yet. Now that you mention it, I'll put it on my list, like posting to Albert & Bruce, catching up on Email, and Punching Holes In Space. And yes! I'd like to know more about that "alternative spec"!
>>Little guys like AMTX and WSTL don't stand a chance in securing large contracts.<<
Amati as you say is a little guy, but even though a box might say Gateway, it's that "Intel Inside" label we all know and trust.
I keep hearing some people mention only modems, there is far more to it than that. But as I said the other day, this company seems to not want you to put 2+2 together and arrive at a summation....
>>It seems that AMTX has been doing the right things in forming alliances with NEC, MOT and TI which I think is the only way to get a piece of the pie.<<
I agree to a point, but the alliances are not the only way to get a piece of the pie. The alliances are only the oven, Amati manufactures ingredients, and sells the Pie Makers wares.
Or you can say they have Three Pie makers, and of course 8X8 who is there to insure there's enough dough in case anyone runs short during the bake-off trials.
I prefer a chef that prepares international cuisine surprises.
On the more serious side, NEC, MOT, & TI, sounds like the number one priorites are announced. Being make sure there are enough chips for everyone, Bet ya can take just one!
