bother gregor,

i am, in fact, a reformed catholic :-) who is now a member of a non-denominational Bible fellowship. neither stresses giving to the church. in fact, where i am now the offering is almost presented as though it is a mild intrusion to be handled carefully and quickly. i can understand this to some extent. past false money-hungry preachers on tv have tarnished some people's impression of giving to the church. some pastors become noticibly nervous nowadays when asking for tithes. it's a shame!

i choose to divide my giving to the church and to the sponsorship of poor and neglected children in third-world countries. although many are impoverished in the US today, we have programs in place (albeit not good ones) to provide assistance. children in other countries though aren't given this chance. they die hungry and without Jesus. only .70 cents a day can make a big difference - provides food, clothing, and a Christian education. please encourage your friends and church family to look into giving to the children.

God Bless You gregor!!!
