Fri 15 May 98 News Release
Mr. Pat DiLillo reports
Mond Industries has received purchase orders totalling more than
$10-million for dry freight vans, refrigerated vans and the company's new
Tuff Plate trailer. This includes an order of more than $4-million placed
by Chrysler Corporation for the Tuff Plate.
The $10-million in orders were placed by new customers in the U.S. and
Canada. Besides Chrysler, other clients include Canadian companies TST
(formerly TNT Overland) and Dairy World. The new Tuff Plate orders
represent the company's first inroad into the U.S. market and an
opportunity for continued growth.
The Tuff Plate trailer offers an innovative, durable design for the rugged
automotive trailer market. It provides a smooth interior without
compromising the structural integrity of the unit. The trailer was designed
for customers with special requirements for structural strength.
The Tuff Plate was originally designed as a prototype, and the sale to
Chrysler immediately followed introduction of the prototype.
With the new Tuff Plate orders, Mond continues to provide innovative
trailers to meet specific customer needs. In the past, Mond has introduced
such innovative products as the pour foam refrigerated trailer, the
extendible container chassis and multi-temperature trailers for food
service transportation.
