Well, I think that most of the participants in this thread don't believe that there are two sides to hear -- there is no doubt that the Year 2000 problem is real and that it threatens to cause significant disruption in society (and on the stock market along the way). I guess that is the premise of the thread.

If I were in an "AIDS: Impact on Society" forum, how valuable would it be to the discussion if I listed millions of names of people who did not have the virus? To those concerned about the problem, demonstrating that many people are not sick is of no value, or worse is detrimental to the discussion as it would tend to belie the seriousness of the issue. I contend that this IS analogous to this thread.

If you do not believe that the Year 2000 is a problem and want to debate as much, that's perfectly valid but there already is a thread dedicated to this type of discussion:
