Gary, FWIW My take on MDCO:

is that it got ahead of itself. First I thought it went up too much based on its clean balance sheet as a takeover candidate. Then maybe the momentum kept it going. I thought it was soon going to be costing more than some of what I took to be more valuable drillers - which I thought was odd - so I let it go. (I bought it at 18 1/2 and sold at 26 after moving my limit sells up more than once)

Since they missed - the momentum has changed. Based on today's heavy volume somebody big is leaving.

Most drillers are selling off today - they had been going up on Fridays recently in case of a weekend agreement to further cut oil output. Since oil is falling through the floor today that doesn't seem like a worry.

I realize this is the strictly drilling thread, but is it necessary to talk about Clinton ? Please, I can not bear to read further about him. ;-)
