MAY 15, 1998, M2 Communications - Lucent Technologies and Comdisco have launched a joint mobile communications recovery service, Comdisco Continuity Services Europe. They highlight research which suggests that less than half of UK businesses have formal continuity plans. The new service will deliver a mobile unit to re-establish a normal communications service in the event of a communications failure. The company has also agreed a distribution agreement with Computer Telephony Integration software developers Exepos. The agreement adds three new solutions to Lucent's CTI portfolio - - Easy Dialler, Telephony Toolbox and Easy Speak. Lucent Technologies Business Communications Systems and Graham Technology hope to expand the market for GT-X call centre software with new developments which offer preformed standard applications. This should make GT-X more accessible for smaller businesses. In addition, the company has launched an 'informal call centre' solution, for use on the DEFINITY ProLogix Solutions communications system. The solution is aimed at organisations where staff are not necessarily dedicated call centre agents, and includes software providing intelligent call routing based on changing conditions in the call centre, e.g. time of day/agents available.
