In Christ.gregor " There is no doubt that is when God pours out the blessings. The real question is: what kind of blessings? What kind of blessings did Elijah receive? What kind of blessings did Paul receive? What kind of blessings did Peter receive? What kind of blessings did the Christian Martyrs receive? The real blessings of God are the grace to maintain the presence of the Holy Spirit and do God's will in every facet of our lives. This is where the righteouness, peace and joy of the Kingdom of God is foun d and not in the excessive abundance of material things. 'Having food and raiment, be content therein' I suspect that many on SI have not found contentment with food and raiment. We Christians often pray the Lord's prayer asking for our daily food, and then rising from prayer we go about seeking much more than our daily food. The worldly clearly has its hook in our hearts and minds. The Kingdom of God is not meat and drink but righteouness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Seek therefore after those things that make for peace and joy.
