LT << In any case, this is just one day, but the high end is not the place to be IMO. Look at INTC and all the problems they're having. They sell processors to the high end. The clock is ticking on DELL, simple as that.>>. No, Dell sells computers regardless of cost. You can order an excellent system from Dell over the net for slightly under $1400. The average price of their systems if above $2000. The average price being above $2000 does not mean that nearly all systems sold are at this price. The median number of systems sold per price is an unknown factor and one which Dell will not share. It could be that the majority of systems sold are in the $1600 range, but that the number of systems sold above $3200 distorts the average price. It has already been suggested by several analysts that Dell's sales are becoming more a function of the lower end, and yet their numbers have continued to go up. This process has been going on for about eight months. To suggest that Dell sells only $2000 plus systems and most everyone is heading for the $1000 door is incorrect. Dell is both a low end and high provider, regardless.
