Iam hesitating between July and October 1999 expiration. Will probably buy some of both...

Strike-price 960, current level 1170.: that does not seem to be so 'far out of the money'; must be quite expensive!? Can you advie me on how far out of the money one should go? TIA!

I started reading on y2k last summer intensively like you, and went through the same phases ... awareness, denail, anger/emotional, acceptance, action (i.e. posting on SI and some other things).

I fully expected the stock market to collapse and to see a panic in autumn 1997... I guess I was too much colored. At that time most of the people I spoke with were not concerned at all; ad some of them even thought I was a bit 'strange'. Well I toned down a bit (have to remain sociable <ggg>)

There will a massive panic; but I do not expect it any time soon...

I have read somewhere: for awareness:

1997 was the year of the IT people
1998 is the year of the business people
1999 is the year of Joe Normal -> panic :-()()

The mass panic might be even worse than the actual thing.

Any thoughts?

Regards,

John
