Finally a chance for the NRI's to put their money where their mouth is. I would invite more ideas on this thread on how best this can be done. Simply parking your cash in Citibank or Axp in India does n't go far enough. How about some big guns like Itwo, Mast,Cbsl, Smod, doctors and others creating the framework? India was one of the largest importers of solar cells and has a pretty good wind power program. You could probably find urls that tout these capabilities. Investing in those areas would improve long term health of the energy sector. Who cares if India spends a couple of bucks on coke and pepsi to keep up the image of a free economy, If India can reduce energy dependence on the Gulf etc, then it will have more room to calibrate the degree of liberalization on the rest of her economy. my 2 c.
