This is what I saw coming three months ago and was a major reason for my bearishness on the semi and tech stock sector. The demand for uPs will be something like 100 million parts over the next year but the supply will exceed that by up to 1/3. At the same time the difference in performance between the low end and the higher end parts is collapsing. That will result in a major reduction in Intel's fat (down to 56% last qtr) margins. IDTI has not benefited from having a large percentage of business in the X86 uP market so they will not be negatively effected nearly so much (if ya aint got nothin, ya got nothin' to loose). Still plenty of upside for IDTI even at 25%-50% margin, which will still be fat relative to the size of the market and margins on most other IC categories.
