Amen to that, EHF. I used to like this thread but am seriously considering removing my bookmark to it. Not that I don't think Y2k is a serious problem with certainly some serious consequences. But a thread that seems to be "only doom and gloom allowed here, everything else kindly take it with you as you leave" has little use to me, as does any one sided "discussion".

I certainly recognize the right of people to have any kind of thread they want. But the title, Impact on Stock Market & Society, appears to lend itself to perspectives of a variety of different outcomes including a whole spectrum in between "we'll all be living in caves", on the one hand, to "it's just another day", on the other. Don't see much posting about the space in the middle but I understand there isn't too much emotional potential between the two extremes.

JMO. I hope like h#ll it all turns out alright but as a Y2k Project Manager with both IT and business unit-side experience and numerous contacts in the real-world who are working on the problem, I'm not convinced it will. I'd just like to see an openess to all perspectives, but that's the call of the "regulars". Good luck to all.
