Paul, >>>Can you read ?.... Big trouble for Intel's margins ahead as they've warned<<<

Where did you read this? Intel has reiterated for the last two or three quarters that their margins will be 50%ish going forward. So what is wrong with that? How many companies on earth, ever, have 50% margins and $ Billions in profit.

>>>But also big trouble for their market share <<<

Isn't that a definition thing? Is 70% global (100% high margin /high end) market share in arguably one of the most important markets ever on the planet really big trouble?

Isn't that a much higher percentage in global terms than Daimler/Chrysler, Coke, Gillette, Sony, Yahoo, Netscape, MSFT (software in totality), Standard Oil, De Beers ......

Do you really consider that the total of your competitons sales are less than your budget for R&D as a problem in market share?

Is Kurlak saying that Intel management is lying when it says it will maintain 50%ish margins? Are they lying when they say demand will pick up in the 2H 98? Is Kurlak saying that Intel guidance is not to be believed and that he has better information to form his opinion?

Mary
