Ouch! And I suspect we are near the bottom for the oil drillers... I'm thinking of buying again.
I got out a couple of weeks ago - wish I had told you. I set stops - something I rarely do - and they were all taken-out. Not that you would (or would not have) followed my lead - but we were discussing them, and were in agreement, so I'm sorry I didn't pass-on the fact of the stops triggering.
My airline stocks (when I do a 180, I do a 180!) aren't doing so well today either, though - but they were fairly mild in comparison to the oil drillers. They appear to be in the final stage of bottoming.
I do sincerely wish you a speedy recovery. I don't like seeing people lose money, and, in fact that's why I'm here. (To help people avoid losing money.)
Perhaps, though, your experience (and that of another person here as well) will warn people off from heavily margining, especially when also investing in penny stocks. Penny stocks require a LOT of patience - patience which margin investing can short-circuit. If a margin call would take away your penny stock, you shouldn't be investing in penny stocks, or margining, or both. |
