I have been curious about this since the first post on it in the VECO thread. I am afraid it is not a technology I am at all familiar with but I have sent out some inquirys to see what I can find which I will post here.

On another front I heard that VEECO attended an investor conference in NY this week and made a presentation. They gave a very bullish forecast on scope products (Wyko related) and said they had developed a relationship that would lead to shipments of greater then a 100 systems to a single account. Others in the business that I have spoken with suggest that this is the IBM business they have been working on and is either measurement of pole tip recession in MR heads or some geometry measurement in the heads. If you are familiar with how to contact IR could I ask you to give them a call and specifically ask them about an investor conference they presented in last week? Its quite a long distance call for me<G>. I do not have details such as who conducted the conference etc. In the meantime I will continue the search on the Veebes project.

It would really be fantastic if Veeco announces a major shipping relationship with IBM but I suspect they will not be allowed to do so.
