Well, Alex, I am kind of out of suggestions. I do know that it would not be a good idea to take psychedelics with Loving Spouse as a guide, if she doesn't basically support the idea. One thing that is really important, as you have gleaned already, is that you need to feel safe, and have someone with you who is relaxed and positive about the experience.

I cannot really comment on your half-dose of a proven substance remark, because I am not sure what kind of substance it was. Dosages vary widely, and so often do actual ingredients. If you are referring to LSD, though, a little can be much worse than a lot, because you are always on the verge of a psychedelic experience, but never really get there. Four hours of uncontrollable anxiety sounds like it might have been a different kind of drug, however. You weren't drinking Peet's coffee, were you?
