You sure? I thought he meant "veiled threats". SJB himself is pretty upfront about attempted intimidation, especially when he's had a few.

But then again, perhaps he really did mean "veil threats". Could be something that Italians from Brooklyn specialize in. Similar to the garotte. On the other hand, it's conceivable that he was thinking of "veil threads", although to the best of my knowledge there aren't any.

Or simply "vile threads"? Plenty of those...
