Lazarus' comments on mnispel's post is just as important:

There are many lessons to be learned from this story. We are very fortunate that Jimmy Chin understands the concept of "customer."

Building relationships to build trust and then applying the solution of partnerships, or joint ventures, to quell the fears of takeover by the Americans. This whole idea of the part that is played by the American company is of extreme importance.

Even in the U.S. where we have a myriad of ways to communicate, the protection of our communications systems is one of our highest defense priorities. Without them, we would lose a large part of our ability to exercise command and control. Think how much more important a role in national security that standard telecom services plays for an emerging country. In other words, the paranoia is well-founded!

One other thought... to the topic of how the company is run. The hype associated with Digitcom's future has really come from the shareholders, not the company.

There have been no grandiose claims by Digitcom as to be an $XXXX Bajillion company in some absurdly small amount of time. I find that very reassuring. Press release are non-speculative in nature. It doesn't mean that goals aren't in place - in fact, its quite obvious that aggressive goals are in place.

By keeping their feet firmly planted in the ground, it has had the effect of removing some of the volatility from the stock. I like that in a BB stock! The rides we've seen with DGIV are already causing my nerves to be replaced with strands of steel. (Rocketman, you pull too many g's in the wrong direction! <g>)

One more point I'd like to add... dealing with the newsletter and pertinent here. The newsletter got published the first day of Jimmy's return to the office with a message from him. Now obviously with him being gone for a while, there are many pressing things to attend to. However, we were one of his first priorities! This to me speaks of an AMAZING commitment to the shareholders of this company.

Lazarus, feeling good all over...
