Re: Dream on suckers

Xybernaut plans wearable PC
news.com

Xybernaut is hoping its pedestrian-sounding Mobile Assistant becomes the next blockbuster electronic gadget, akin to Sony's sexy Walkman.

The odds of that happening are around the same as, say, Bill Gates joyfully proclaiming that -- like Nutscrape Navigator -- he will free Windows source code.

The two-pound computer ... can be voice-activated and is just twice the size of a typical mobile telephone. It will retail for less than $5,000, Newman said.

That right there will kill it. Why is the 3Com Palmpilot successful? Because it fits in your pocket. Nobody is going to buy some bulky device that is awkward to transport.

The stock ... more than doubled yesterday after it announced that an affiliate of Sony will begin making Xybernaut's patented high-powered wearable computer late summer.

Sounds like a good speculative short play to me.

God bless,
PX
