NCR is after the internet banks.

NCR is backing an internet bank in my home town called G&L Bank. G&L will be target marketing to the gay and lesbian community online. This is a huge market that no other financial institution is going after except for Citicorp in a minor way.

G&L is organizing. HQ is in Pensacola, FL. IPO is targeted for mid August. They're ordering lots of ATM's from NCR. NCR is handling items processing, software, data warehousing, LAN's, etc. Turn key job. $400k contract, not payable until they go public. Senior management is solidly behind this bank.

The ATM rep told me that NCR want's to be a major player in the internet banking industry. Both the ATM rep and the software rep from NCR are seed capital investors in G&L. The ATM rep told me that AT&T didn't know anything about marketing and they're so much better off now that they've been spun off.

He also said that NCR just concluded a data warehousing deal with Atlanta Internet Bank (NTBK) last month. This is the future of banking. NTBK IPO'd Aug 97 @$12, just off a high of $31, bottomed out at $23 right now. Growing deposits 18% per month. Good buy. I've been trading NTBK successfully for the last few months. It has a small float so it moves smartly.
