mike-- oh no, i was assured quite emphatically that xybr was the real deal and that sony was already making the product. its was a very long and tedious discussion, much like the one i had a few months ago with someone about RMBS. my problem with the whole thing is i dont think sony is nearly as good as it used to be. when walkmans and discmans first came out, they were pretty cheap. but sonys recent new entries, like minidisc have left a very bad taste in my mouth. i question whether or not sony has what it takes anymore. what i think is going to happen is that the other PC OEMs, sensing a chance to leverage the brand into consumer electronics are going to jump all over it, and crush sonly in it just as they did in the desktop market. beside, sony is going to price it way too high for anyone to buy one. i think most people will wait for one from CPQ or casio. i know i will. you need to think about giving a course on semiconductor company investing over the net. i have about 30 candidates for you, including the incomparable kurlak. seriously, i learned more from you on this thread than i did in the classes i took. good luck to all, trey
