HerbViv,
As always, the option expiration will get extended to Monday's morning as MM's clean up all contracts expired automatically with less payout. The stock will stabilize after the cleanup in the afternoon.
I have received a letter from NASDAQ for those qualified people on the payments of by institutions manipulating the market during past 5-6 years on more than several hundreds of companies. There are milions of investors lost money due to such manipulation, conspiration by MM's. The total amount paid to investors accounts for 1.07b.
Does this phenomenon continues? I think so, but hopefully it has been reduced to the minimum. Apple's an obvious example of the artificial depressed one in the recent case, but has been improved significantly.
The wintel stocks such as Microsoft, Dell, Compaq, Intel will get pressure from the breakdown talk between MSFT/DOJ this weekend. However, the upward trend on those stocks will continue. Hence, I wouldn't bet on shorting those stocks.
For Apple's stock, the trend was down a bit last Friday due to MM's intention of swallowing calls and puts. They will let go for market to make its own course after closing deals on May's options entirely which will occur around tomorrow's afternoon.
I still believe Microsoft's trouble is a precious opportunity for Apple to sell more iMac and G3's in the coming hot seasons, which will easily translate into higher revenues/net in the current quarter and the following ones. I am particularly interested in the states status against Microsoft since they have authority to make a decision on school buying. For Federal buying, it's also an opportunity for Apple to gain more shares in such market if Feds are willing to balance the usage of various platforms and to resolve such anti-trust issues with Microsoft.
Phil
