You hit the nail on the head when you told Sam;
You seem to be a bitter person for some reason...
I think Sam relied on God doing things for him without Sam seeking the kingdom of God first.
Some bad things happened in his life and he blames the God of the Bible for all of his troubles.
I think the myth that Sam speaks of, is the myth taught by some ministers of God, that God will give, give, give, and we don't have to do anything!
And now since he left his first love and went on to other gods,and all of their myths, he is completely confused.
The greatest myth, and the most dangerous of all myths, is to believe that we are not sinners. Even the blessed mother of Jesus the Christ knew she needed a Saviour, and said so.
Luke 18:10-14
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
