This is excellent news for QDEK and the many other hardware and software suppliers who owe their success to MSFT. Maybe I view life too simply being an ex-Iowa farm boy, but it seems to me that the Feds are trying to reduce the capital position of Microsoft while Microsoft is trying to secure their own future. If this 4th branch of government (the Justice Dept.) succeeds in an authoritarian ruling against MSFT, the entire industry will suffer. Win98 is a minor upgrade but I am 50 years old and excited about upgrading. It is a psychological bridge to the 21st century. I also do not understand why the legislative branch of our government is letting the DOJ do their job for them. Perhaps they think this is too much of a hot potato. If the Feds screw this one up, there may be a few retired legislators after the next election.
