Hmm...funny how it's ok when Motorola gets the stuffing beat out of them in the modem wars...via competition from 3Com/USR. But if MSFT does the same thing it's not.

USRX/COMS didn't force you to buy Sportster modems when you bought their NICs.

Should you?
Buy a Ford -> buy gas, tires and get your repairs at a Ford gas Station. Work in a coal mine -> buy your equipment from the company store. Buy a diamond -> go to a DeBeers store.
(i forget who I'm taking a poke at here.<G>)

USRX/COMS built a better modem and beat the pants off the other guys. Let MSFT build a better browser to compete, not force you to take theirs even if you don't like it or want it. Didn't IE4 blow up your PC at one point? Would you rather deal with someone else? What happens when there is no one else?

Where does it say OS's can't contain applications?.

I'm not sure of the exact situation but IBM got sued by justice years ago for forcing you to buy their OS if you bought their mainframes. They ended up stopping the practice and signing a consent decree.
