This is a great discussion, but between you and Keith I'm getting behind and just dashing off quick responses. This actually is a very complex issue, with many things to be studied. The technology has advanced so quickly, and most will agree that what defines the OS is a constantly moving target. MSFT's position is that browsing capability is something that consumers/users would benefit to have integrated into the OS. Simply put, I agree with that. It's unfortunate that this drives right over Netscape's product, but the ability and right for MSFT to improve the OS is very important, and shouldn't be limited. There are plenty of opportunities for Netscape. They could start by simply building a better browser. I have no idea how they can do that, but perhaps the whiz kids there at NSCP have some ideas. Then there is the fact that Netscape is one of the most heavily trafficed sites on the web. Surely that's a big and valuable accomplishment/opportunity. I'll respond to other comments after a bit.
