Now that we have that out of the way, one of the problems with Popeye's analysis is the traders never hold stock. Never. Market makers buy and sell for clients. That's it. If a client makes an order, they execute it. That is all they do, they do nothing else. The rumor that they "hold" stock is false. It is true that the firm may have its own account, but that is a different thing. The traders; the people that execute the orders, what you call the "market makers", never intentionally hold positions overnight.

BTW Jane, how do you know I'm not one of the mammals on your fave site?
