I chose CyBerTrader over RealTick for 2 reasons. First, CyBerTrader incorporates several "day trading" features that are not available with RealTick - 52 week highs/lows, descriptive market maker changes in the tickers, crossed/locked market alerts, trader order flow, etc.
Second, I find that the overhead of RealTick in terms of memory and speed is greater than CyBerTrader. For example, during heavy trading, watch the update rate of market maker prices in the market maker (or Stock Box) window. Trading with RT, the screen updates never seemed to instantaneously refresh as they do in CT.
Interestingly enough, CT appears to use the same base software as RT. I saw some familiar images such as "talipc" - apparently CT uses Townsend Analytics' communications software and developed its software on top of that.
