Frank, I was trying to help Biz for you! I figured you could throw out some teasers, maybe get a few folks in need of this sort of advice interested, lay out some parameters, but they got to pay the bread for the meat!<GGGGGGGG> Just kidding, I figured that I would ask for the moon.
Could you expound a bit on the Backwards compatibility, as I have not heard it really mentioned before. On a somewhat related tangent, I read in a recent issue of IP Telephony on some of the issues, outside of the existing codec standards, that affect interoperability. They expressed that there was a need for standards in Bandwidth management, call setup and signaling, among other issues before true compatibility would be capable between the different vendors. If perhaps you or Mr Pulver, and it is great to see him post here, could discuss some of these aspects and if they are being addressed by the ITU or similar org.'s.
BTW I was suprised to read the ridiculous comments on another thread. I imagine that like me you will not truly turn to being a Luddite until you can afford to retire and live on some tropical beach and never have to leave it. Then who needs this technology and mumbo jumbo, just keep me at a tech level where the wooden umbrellas in the drinks can pop open. When I reach that point, sure, go ahead smash all the machines, what do I care!<GGGGGGGGGGGGG> (TIC of course)
I will talk to you soon,
