Yes! Lots of times...How about Ascend recently. The one I remember quite well, as I was a shareholder, was Cheyenne Software, before it was acquired by Computer Associates, about 2 years ago. The media had this merger going on for at least a year or so before CA did the deal! It has nothing to do with our Dr. House "leaking information". It's the basic nature of the Media, esp. these days, hyping anything for a "Scoop".
On this 80 number I've been hearing in the "rumor mill",,,,Actually it makes sense to me, esp. when certain internet related stocks with no or negative earnings, are going for unheard of, unbelievable premiums right now! Maybe not 80, but Bay does have the technology and products coming into focus now with converging voice, video and data in the information flow, to warrant takeover at a high price! Just how high.....stay tuned! Very Interesting Stuff!! |
