Here is the URL for Pricewatch that listed several vendors for a $253 Pentium II - 300 MHz.

The Pentium II will give 30% more performance on many applications that use the FPU - making that 30% extra CPU/MB cost negligible in the long run.

Also, the 30% savings becomes negligible as you start factoring in software costs.

Saving a few bucks on hardware is a distraction when total costs get factored in over a period of time.
