Good morning Thread, rejoining the conversation only this Monday morning, I read the lastest Reuters news on Indonesia and reckon that Suharto may be gone by the end of this week... I read that May 20 is an important day (memorial of something), so he maybe wants to save his face (his bum <g>) before that date... Just speculating. Today's comments in our Zurich paper NZZ say that while on paper immediate succession looks clear, in reality there may be further open or latent conflict because the military is such a force in Indo and one doesn't know at this point where or behind whom they (will) stand.
