I apologize if this has been covered before. What does anyone think the fallout will be from past users of Cleansweep 3 and earlier to the fact that it will not run with Win98. I upgraded to Version 3 at the beginning of the year and a couple of months later started using the beta Win98. To my dismay a warning was included to not use Cleansweep with Win98. To avoid the problem Quarterdeck has told me I must upgrade to Version 4. No apology on their part. I don't mind updating a product every year or 2 but not after 2 months use. I'm sure they knew in January when they sold me my upgrade to 3.0 that it would not work with Win98 and never will. But nothing was included in the product literature that compatibility problems were ahead. The Quarterdeck rep's excuse was that Version 3 had been out for quite a while.

Since most folks don't have Win98 yet, there should not be much fallout from this soon. But by the end of year it could cause a quite a few loyalist to jump ship for the competition. I will be one.

Opinions please.

Jim
