Egghead.com Joins Yahoo!'s Premier Merchant Program

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO)
today announced that Egghead.com (Nasdaq: EGGS) has become a premier computer
and software merchant on Yahoo!(R) (www.yahoo.com), the world's leading
Internet guide. Starting today, Yahoo! users have convenient access to
Egghead.com's assortment of more than 20,000 computer, software and related
products throughout computer-related areas within the Yahoo! network of
properties. Egghead, which operates three electronic commerce Web sites, is
the first computer-related merchant in Yahoo!'s premier merchant program that
currently includes merchants in popular areas such as autos, videos, books,
travel, music and online stock trading -- to name a few.
"Yahoo!'s premier merchant program brings added value to our users,
offering them quick and convenient access to purchasing opportunities within
popular interest areas," said Ellen Siminoff, vice president of business
development at Yahoo!. "With Egghead.com's broad selection of products and
quality customer service, our users can now easily go from browsing and
researching a variety of computer products directly to purchasing the hardware
and software they need."
Under the agreement, Egghead.com merchant buttons are integrated
throughout computer-related areas of the main Yahoo! directory, as well as
co-branded Yahoo! and AltaVista search results pages. Additional promotions
for Egghead will also appear on the front page of Yahoo! and throughout the
Yahoo! and Netscape New and Cool areas.
"This agreement is a major element in Egghead.com's strategic move to the
Internet," George Orban, Egghead.com Chairman and CEO said. "By teaming up
with Yahoo!, the Egghead brand name and Web sites, which are synonymous with
computers and software, are now available to millions of Yahoo! users
worldwide."
Egghead.com, Inc. operates three Internet Web site sales channels:
www.egghead.com, www.surplusdirect.com and www.surplusauction.com. The sites
are among the most frequently visited commerce sites on the Internet,
according to Media Metrix, the PC Meter Company. Egghead.com offers consumer
and business customers more than 20,000 different products, including
computers, peripherals, software, and software downloads. Surplusdirect.com
offers off-priced computer hardware, software, and consumer electronics
products. Surplusauction.com offers computer products, office and consumer
products to shoppers in a fun and interactive bidding environment. With two
types of auctions to choose from and a real-time bidding process based on a
true auction format, customers set the prices on a wide variety of products.
