Dave,

One needs to consider future sales growth potential. In the case of
Ross, it may be difficult to market their products against the
momentum that Intel has with the Pentium Pro. Indeed, the Ross
HyperSparc upgrade modules are a cost-effective way of upgrading
existing Sun/Unix Workstations, infact the Ross CPUs provide greater
performance that the Sun Ultra 1. But the bottom line is going
to depend on how well the new marketing strategy is received in
industry. Will large Unix based organizations upgrade existing
systems or will they transition to a PC environment. Ross has offered
a 'SparcPlug' which is effect a Unix work/development station embedded
into a PC. This is an attractive package for Java/internet tool
development, but is costly(~12K).

Anyway, the chart for Ross does not look good. With the CFO resigning
there some re-shuffling. However Fujitsu has offered a $25M credit
which can only help. As far as sell or not, the cpu industry is
dominated by x86 and will remain so, therefore I would sell.

I'm sorry it took so long for me to respond, I hope the info above
has been useful.

Hemant
