Sam, Wyse and Neoware do not have onboard Bios, Boundless uses Award, NCD is changing models. In general if you are not a DOS based type system you may or may not require Bios. Generally, the thin client runs off the server and the vendors use different methods to access and run programs and storage. X, UNIX, DOS, 16 Bit, 32 Bit, lots of things go into each one of the Vendors decisions. Remember that most of the thin clients are going to run NT. Some of the Vendors might have BIO's on other models but I don't have time to review.
