Dear borb - for cos who are into acquisition growth, buyback is not likely because of the pool-of-interest provisions. Since BAY is growing both internally as well as externally, it is not likely. Additionally, while share buyback is a nice tax free dividend, especially if the repurchased shares are retired, it can have an impact on the cash position. Hi tech cos require continuous investments to stay a step ahead.

Hope this will help single sentence reposte <VBG>
