Dale, interesting. He did pick his numbers kind of selectively (ie using 1928 as a starting point when coming up with "long term" numbers, and a few other things) but he does have some good points. I don't think it has too much bearing on AOL, though. This type of mania would tend to have a shorter cycle and be much more extreme both ways, imo; not the correlations with money supply or inflation or interest rates or recessions, etc, but at a somewhat random point in time the hype just stops working and the rise in the stock price stops feeding on itself.
