Are insider's shares precluded from being loaned for shorting? The basis of this squeeze attempt is the the short interest is very close to the float. So any substantial buying should cause a squeeze. But just moving shares to one's cash account will only work if the only shares available for loan for shorting are in the float. But if the insider's shares are being held in margin accounts then can't the brokerage house just loan them out? -- Alan
