Hey guys -- I got an interesting message from the SI Administrator today. They have deleted a message of mine where I talked about Kinky Friedman and his band (I can't repeat the name of the band since that was what caused the message to be deleted -- it was said that the name of the band could be considered to be a "racial slur").

Have any of you had any similar encounters?

My reply to the SI administrator follows FYI:

You may be interested to know that Kinky Friedman and the (***censored***) is the exact and official name of a band that has had a number of hits in the 70's. The band has toured with Willie Nelson and is/was quite popular in Texas.

Kinky Friedman is a best selling author, songwriter and screenwriter.

My post was not fiction. It was a factual occurance.

Of course you may delete what you choose to delete, but my advice would be not to try and be so politically correct.

UPDATE: Seems that System Admin guy is an ok guy after all: His reply to my reply:

I stand corrected. I can't undelete, though, as the system doesn't allow it.

Conversely, though, referring to the once-popular group "NWA" by their full name would be quite offensive to many participants.

Nothing to do with political correctness. Everything to do with whether or not something can be viewed as a racial slur.

Had I know before-hand that that was a real band, I wouldn't have deleted the post or said anything to you.
