Maurice, here is some research information that I spotted on QCOM.

Monday - Lehman Bros - reiterated buy on Qualcomm. Price target $65

Nov 12 - Cowen & Co. research notes - Qualcomm - rating 2 - Buy.
CDMA Commercialization is Here. This Is A Major Trigger For QCOM.
"we would recommend investors purchase shares of QCOM as other carriers (e.g. GTE near term) will be sure to follow in relatively short order. Commercialization of CDMA service is crucial because of the long term financial implications to QCOM." 4th quarter est $0.09
1997E Q1 $0.12, Q2 $0.24, Q3 $0.44, Q4 $0.56, Y$1.35

Nov 13 - Alex Brown - research notes - QCOM:CDMA Roll Out - Strong Buy
"Markets Coming On-Line - Major CDMA commercial network activation announcements worldwide before year end: PrimeCo (16 markets avail. now) and Centennial Cellular (Dec 1) and additional AirTouch markets and Sprint likely before year-end."
"CDMA Works in Volume - Recently tested CDMA system in Korea. Wireline quality voice confirmed. Korea is the most advanced nationwide CDMA network in the world with nearly 400,000 current subscribers and 1 million projected by year-end. System is seamless with existing AMPs system and provides up to to 10X capacity advantage. Continued CDMA cellular buildout in 1997 with CDMA PCS ramping in second half."
"China CDMA Building - Also went to China and attended a telecom trade show. Very apparent that CDMA continues to make inroads (although GSM is very strong). Korean manufacturers have made initial inroads with CDMA and Motorola recently announced this week in a Chinese wireless local loop trial."
