I would kill for another Borland.

Most of my short plays tend to decay very rapidly - which makes
it difficult to increase my positions in reasonable increments as the
price falls and more margin is released. In the last
10 years or so I've only run across two stocks which I considered
"perfect" shorts - Borland (BORL) and Software Publishing (SPCO),
i.e. slow, grinding drops. In Borland's case I collateralized
500 shares for my initial short position. When I finally covered,
I was short nearly 25,000 shares, and I never needed to add another
penny to my margin account.

I'm currently studying Dillards Department Stores (DDS). It recently
released a surprisingly bad earnings report, and its balance sheet,
earnings record and price to cash flow ratio is ever-so-slowly turning
south. I don't understand the retail business as well as computers
and software, so I'm taking my time before I commit, but my guess is
it's a good bet - you may want to look at it.
