Hi Tim,

Yes, I'm not only familiar with the Edward Bugbee book, "A Textbook of
Fire Assaying", but I have a copy of the book (3rd Ed. pub. 1940). It
has long been considered "The Bible" of fire assaying. You are welcome to borrow it and/or copy the relevant pages. Bugbee discusses platinum and iridium assays and the determination of iridium in platinum alloys. In a fire assay of a sample which contains both iridium and platinum, some of the iridium may be found with the platinum when it is separated. There are ways to overcome the problem, however.
