SGI will sell the VisualPC through direct sales,
assembled by contract. The basic IO will not run through
the bus, but via the interconnect. I don't know if the video
adapter would be a direct line off of the motherboard or via
a PCI card - I suspect the latter. SGI drivers will be included
in the Windows NT CD that everybody gets from Microsoft. There
will be no ISA slots, only some PCIs. You can get single- or dual-processor for it, I suspect on the same main board. Current
direct3d and openGL code will run, and the newer Fahrenheit will
be a synthesis of these, as well as the two higher-level interfaces.
