Ztect, your points are all true, IMO. Other than an e-mail to the DJ story author or comment to their publication site, I can't imagine any better damage control than letting Glenn do his job and let performance of the site dictate the future of PNLK (to answer to post immediately previous to yours). It is sad that the rewards will be slightly delayed. It's just annoying that these people are allowed to rape these companies on the way up. I am sure, and I am hoping, that this will not be a BB issue for long. When we move over, there will be additional publicity, etc.
I really doubt there was directed animosity on the part of DJ, only naivete on the part of the author. I think the depth and style are typical of today's "investigative journalism" and based on the limited attention spans of most people (myself included). Also, unfortunately, people like to think, that not only are there scammers out there - and there are, but that they are getting caught. That's why the Stock Detective is quite the clever concept. Unfortunately, in this case, C&D are the scammers and PNLKers are the scammees. Also, unfortunately, it is much easier for the public to think that some evil "Frenchman and his henchman" are the perpetrators, rather than the bearers of the Chatworth & Dean (sophisticated, WASPy-sounding names that imply good-old American honesty). O.K., now I've crossed the line. <ggggg> |
