From my perspective, everybody could be a loser here. I don't support the government telling a private company how to develop, package and market its products. On the other hand, MSFT has used (abused?) its dominant position to favor its applications and exclude others.

Now that the elephants have locked horns (or tusks, I guess), there doesn't seem to be any desirable way out.
