Great article : How do you say Not There.

Now the question is how long will it take for IT people to get their hands slapped for trying to run Hobby OS (nt) for enterprise applications?

The other question is will HP loose customers to Sun since they are trying to push NT? Could this be part of the reason why HP has a EPS shortfall this quarter?

The only reason microslop is buddies with HP is so they can steal their technology to try and improve nt and now it appears they are using them to try and fragment Java with HP vapour Java.

Sun: HP walks 'funny line' with Java

JavaSoft Vice President Jim Mitchell said Sun Microsystems Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co. are pursuing "completely parallel paths" with embedded Java, and there is no danger that Java will be fragmented. Mitchell also said that while the two companies disagree on some issues, they continue to seek ways to work together.

Last but not least I can't figure out why Sun takes a hit today when Sun has the most to gain if MS gets its behind wacked by the DOJ. I don't think MS will have a chance to fragment Java if by chance which is probably 0% chance the DOJ breaks up MS OS from the rest of MS. This would definitely make thinks easier for Sun to full fill it concept for Java.
